Old Friends

I got an email from the Reunion committee trying to get my to go to my 20th reunion. OMG, twenty years! Anyway, I clicked on the link to see if they had finally taken my name off the missing alumni list since they obviously had my address and I was still there. Out of curiosity, though, I started Google-ing names of former close friends on the missing list to see if they were really missing or if the committee was lazy. I found one guy, Joe Herbert, that I ended up going to UNC with, also. Turns out he's in a local vocal jazz group called Groove Society. That's so cool. I'll have to check out a live performance in the near future and I'll try to find their CD when it's released. I'm glad somebody I went to school with is actually doing something that they love.

Like A Chicken With My Head Chopped Off

Current mood: bearmood — silly frazzled
Sorry about the lack of posting, but I've just got way too much on my plate lately. The sad thing is that all I can do is obsess over how much I have to do that I never actually get anything done. It's really frustrating. Good thing is that after Wednesday, I don't have school for 2-1/2 weeks. I sure need the break and I will get stuff done in that time off. Marcus' mom is possibly coming to visit on the 23rd, so the house needs to get cleaned. I hope she does come since it's been like 7 or 8 years since we've actually seen her.

I saw the illustration maker and the icon maker at Lisa's site today and will definitely take time to play with them later this week.

I've got so much to say and I can't think of a single thing right now. *sigh* Maybe I'll just go to bed and it'll all come to me later.

Ow

Current mood: bearmood — sad sore
Yay, tomorrow is the beginning of July and half of this horrible year is over.

Dumb me strikes again. I dropped a box on my forehead and now have a lump the size of an egg. Owwwwww. I can't wait until it turns black and blue—it'll be real purty then. I had lain down with an ice pack on it for about an hour and when I woke up, my left eye's vision was so blurry I couldn't see. I don't know if that was a result of the bump, from the severe allergies I've had lately or from the fact I've been crying almost nonstop for a week. (Too personal, still can't/don't want to get into it here.)

I watched part of Steve Job's WWDC Keynote yesterday. There is now an 30" Apple Cinema Display. Of course, with the $3,299 price tag, the special video card it needs ($599), and the fact it probably needs a G5 to run well (at least $1999), I don't think I'll be getting one anytime soon. Still, a girl can dream.

My Planets Have Been In Retrograde

Current mood: bearmood — sad depressed
Sorry I haven't been in the mood to post this month. It seems everything is going horribly wrong lately. This whole year has sucked so far, actually. I've been wrestling with whether I want to share some of the things that have been going on, but since a lot of these things are extremely personal, I've decided that I should probably not air them here. Not now, anyway.

There have been lots of other crap that I can share, though. I'm putting it all in the extended entry to save room.

Get The F*** Away From Me!

Current mood: bearmood — angry grumpy
Why is it that when I'm having a really bad day and all I want is for people to keep at least 50 feet away and not talk to me that they want to hover around me and get in my space? Why, even when I blow up at them for being in my space, can't they take a hint and get the hell away from me? I swear I work with the biggest bunch of thick-headed, clueless losers! ARGGGHHHH!

So, the waterbed popped a leak. Whee. The worst part about the one that we have is the purple eggcrate foam pads that sit atop the water tubes that soak up all the water and become heavy as hell and take forever to dry. Probably not sleeping in the bed tonight. I tried putting one in our dryer, but it didn't work. The dryer is not big enough and the foam was starting to shred. Even on the lowest setting, it started stinking to high heaven. Ewww. Of course, it has been really windy the last few days and the one day I need a good stiff breeze to dry those things out, it decides to be calm and still. Stupid wind.

Class was a total waste of time today. I should've skipped. We took a six-question quiz and then wasted the rest of the period. I wish he had just let us go if he didn't have a lesson. Oh, well.

Damn, I really need to go to bed. Too bad I can't.
